What Matters Most

Proverb Truth
As we come to the close of another month together, I find myself thinking less about accomplishments and more about affection. Less about achievement and more about relationships.
I’ve stood beside enough hospital beds and attended enough funerals to know that nobody talks about trophies in those moments. People talk about memories. Kindness. Laughter. Faith. Love.
As I grow older, I find myself praying a different prayer. Not, “Lord, make me successful.” But, “Lord, help me love well.”
Because when my race is finished, I don’t want to be remembered primarily for what I built. I hope the people who know me best will simply say: “He loved God. He loved his family. He loved people. He was faithful.”
Jesus in Action
As Jesus prepared to leave His disciples, He didn’t speak about achievements. He spoke about love. “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Forged Wisdom
Seneca wrote: “Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness.” A life well lived is simply a life that embraced those opportunities. Again and again.
The No Limits Challenge
Tell the people you love that you love them. Not tomorrow. Today.
Prayer
Father, thank You for the gift of family and the people You’ve allowed me to walk beside. Help me never lose sight of what matters most. Teach me to love deeply. To forgive freely. To encourage generously. And to cherish the ordinary moments that become life’s greatest treasures. Amen.
