August  •  Day 21

Pain Is a Teacher

Day 233 of 365  •  FITNESS

Blows that wound cleanse away evil; strokes make clean the innermost parts.

Proverbs 20:30 (ESV)

Proverb Truth

Some of the greatest lessons I’ve learned have come through pain. Injuries. Disappointments. Setbacks. Pain has a way of teaching us things success often cannot.

I’ve learned to appreciate things I once overlooked. A pain-free day. A good night’s sleep. A walk with my wife. Ordinary blessings suddenly become extraordinary gifts.

Pain has a way of making gratitude grow.

Jesus in Action

Jesus understood suffering. He understood weariness. He understood pain. And because He did, we have a Savior who sympathizes with our weaknesses.

Forged Wisdom

Musonius Rufus wrote: “Difficulties strengthen the soul as labor strengthens the body.”

The No Limits Challenge

Instead of asking, “Why me?” ask, “Lord, what are You teaching me?”

Prayer

Father, thank You that even painful seasons are not wasted. Teach me through difficulties. Amen.
