August  •  Day 17

Moderation Is Wisdom

Day 229 of 365  •  FITNESS

If you have found honey, eat only enough for you, lest you have your fill of it and vomit it.

Proverbs 25:16 (ESV)

Proverb Truth

I’ve noticed that our culture tends to swing between extremes. We work too much. Then we burn out. We eat too much. Then we crash diet.

Wisdom often lives in moderation. God created rhythms for a reason. Work and rest. Activity and recovery. Feasting and fasting.

Life isn’t meant to be lived at the extremes. It’s meant to be lived wisely.

Jesus in Action

Jesus never lived at the extremes. He embraced celebration. He embraced solitude. He worked. He rested. He walked in perfect balance.

Forged Wisdom

Musonius Rufus wrote: “Excess in anything becomes an enemy.”

The No Limits Challenge

Look for areas where you’ve drifted toward extremes. Choose balance.

Prayer

Father, teach me to live with wisdom and moderation. Help me resist extremes and embrace the healthy rhythms You’ve designed for life. Amen.
