July • Day 22
A Quiet Life Is a Good Life
Day 203 of 365 • BALANCE
“Better is a dry morsel with quiet than a house full of feasting with strife.”
— Proverbs 17:1 (ESV)
Proverb Truth
When I was younger, I imagined that happiness would always be found in bigger things. But the older I get, the more I’ve come to appreciate quieter blessings. Peace. Laughter around the dinner table. Morning coffee. Conversations with old friends. Walks with my wife.
Life has a way of refining our definition of success. I’ve learned that peace is precious. And peace doesn’t always accompany abundance. Sometimes it accompanies simplicity.
Jesus in Action
Jesus spent much of His life in obscurity. He enjoyed meals. Friendships. Conversations. He embraced ordinary life. And perhaps holiness isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s beautifully quiet.
Forged Wisdom
Marcus Aurelius wrote: “Nowhere you can go is more peaceful—more free of interruptions—than your own soul.” Peace has always been one of God’s greatest gifts.
The No Limits Challenge
Slow down today and enjoy something simple.
Prayer
Father, thank You for ordinary blessings. Help me recognize the beauty hidden inside everyday moments and teach me to treasure the gift of peace. Amen.
