July • Day 23
Gratitude Changes Everything
Day 204 of 365 • BALANCE
“All the days of the afflicted are evil, but the cheerful of heart has a continual feast.”
— Proverbs 15:15 (ESV)
Proverb Truth
I’ve discovered that gratitude is one of those gifts that gets better with age. When I was younger, I tended to focus on what was next.
A man who had recently gone through serious health challenges said, “Billy, I don’t take ordinary days for granted anymore.”
Gratitude has a way of transforming what we have into enough. Grateful people see abundance where others see scarcity.
Jesus in Action
Jesus constantly gave thanks. Before feeding thousands. Before breaking bread with His disciples. Even before going to the cross, gratitude flowed naturally from His heart.
Forged Wisdom
Marcus Aurelius wrote: “Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars, and see yourself running with them.” There is beauty everywhere for the man willing to notice it.
The No Limits Challenge
Write down five blessings you’ve been overlooking.
Prayer
Father, thank You for the countless blessings You’ve placed in my life. Help me develop a grateful heart and teach me never to take Your goodness for granted. Amen.
