Be Faithful in the Ordinary

I’ve spent enough years on this earth to know that most of life isn’t dramatic. Most days aren’t filled with mountain-top experiences. Most days are ordinary.

But marriages are built in ordinary moments. Friendships are strengthened through ordinary conversations. Faith grows through ordinary prayers.

Looking back, the men I’ve admired most weren’t always the most gifted. But they were consistent. Perhaps greatness is simply faithfulness stretched over decades.

For thirty years, Jesus lived an ordinary life before beginning His public ministry. Ordinary seasons are never wasted seasons.

Marcus Aurelius wrote: “Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be. Be one.” Faithfulness has always been more important than fame.
