July  •  Day 16

Don’t Borrow Tomorrow’s Trouble

Day 197 of 365  •  BALANCE

Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.

Proverbs 12:25 (ESV)

Proverb Truth

Worry has always had a way of promising protection while delivering exhaustion. I’ve spent plenty of nights lying awake thinking about things that never actually happened.

Very few of the things we fear ever arrive exactly the way we imagine. Yet we spend enormous amounts of energy carrying tomorrow’s burdens today.

Perhaps peace is found not in controlling the future but in trusting the One who already stands there.

Jesus in Action

Jesus continually pointed people away from anxiety and back toward trust. Not because life would always be easy. But because the Father would always be faithful.

Forged Wisdom

Marcus Aurelius wrote: “Never let the future disturb you. You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present.”

The No Limits Challenge

Release one worry to God today.

Prayer

Father, teach me to trust You with tomorrow. Help me live in today’s grace instead of tomorrow’s fears. Amen.
