Enough Is Enough

I’ve noticed something curious over the years. No matter how much we have, it’s easy to believe that peace lives just beyond the next accomplishment.

I remember talking with a man who had accumulated everything he once dreamed about. And yet, somewhere in the conversation, he quietly admitted that he wasn’t sure he’d ever learned how to enjoy it.

Solomon understood something many of us spend a lifetime learning. Enough is a spiritual issue. And a man who knows when enough is enough is far richer than he realizes.

Jesus lived with remarkable freedom. Not because He possessed much. But because possessions never possessed Him.

Seneca wrote: “It is not the man who has too little, but the man who craves more, that is poor.” And perhaps that’s because gratitude creates wealth that money cannot buy.
