April • Day 13
Celebrate the Small Moments
Day 103 of 365 • FAMILY
“All the days of the afflicted are evil, but the cheerful of heart has a continual feast.”
— Proverbs 15:15 (ESV)
Proverb Truth
Some of my favorite memories didn’t seem important when they happened. They weren’t birthdays. They weren’t vacations. They weren’t major milestones. They were ordinary Tuesday nights. Family dinners. Laughing over something silly.
Maybe that’s because life isn’t really made up of big moments. Life is mostly ordinary moments. And if we’re always waiting for something spectacular, we might miss the beauty God has already placed in front of us.
I’ve learned that joy often hides in simple things. A quiet evening. A shared meal. A hug from a child. A long conversation with your spouse.
Jesus in Action
Jesus spent much of His ministry around tables. Eating meals. Attending weddings. Walking with friends. He didn’t treat ordinary moments as interruptions. He treated them as opportunities.
Forged Wisdom
Musonius Rufus taught that happiness isn’t found in possessions or achievements, but in living virtuously and appreciating the gifts already present.
The No Limits Challenge
Slow down and enjoy one ordinary moment today. Don’t rush through it.
Prayer
Father, help me appreciate the blessings that surround me each day. Keep me from becoming so focused on tomorrow that I fail to enjoy the gifts You’ve given me today. Amen.
