Avoid Unnecessary Battles

Not every invitation deserves acceptance. And not every argument deserves participation.

The older I get, the more I realize how much energy can be wasted fighting battles that never needed to be fought.

Some people simply want conflict. Some conversations have no productive destination. Some debates are fueled more by pride than by truth.

Learning to recognize the difference is a form of wisdom.

I’ve spent enough years trying to convince people who had already made up their minds to know that peace is often found in walking away.

That’s not weakness. That’s maturity.

Jesus never felt compelled to respond to every accusation. There were times when He spoke boldly and times when He remained silent.

Both required wisdom.

Marcus Aurelius wrote: “The best answer to anger is silence.”

Not every fight deserves your attention.
