One Thing at a Time

Most men carry too much.

Responsibilities. Deadlines. Worries. Expectations.

And if we’re not careful, we start trying to solve every problem at once.

I’ve discovered that overwhelm often comes from trying to carry tomorrow, next week, and next year all at the same time.

But God rarely asks us to do that. More often, He asks us to be faithful with what’s in front of us today.

One conversation. One responsibility. One decision. One step.

And when we focus on today’s assignment, tomorrow has a way of taking care of itself.

Jesus never appeared distracted by all that remained undone.

He simply remained faithful to what His Father placed before Him.

Epictetus observed: “Do what is necessary, and do it well.”

Often wisdom is simply doing the next right thing.
