March  •  Day 24

Beware of Hurry

Day 83 of 365  •  FOCUS

Desire without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way.

Proverbs 19:2 (ESV)

Proverb Truth

The older I get, the more convinced I become that hurry is one of the greatest enemies of wisdom.

When we’re rushed, we stop listening. When we’re rushed, we stop noticing. When we’re rushed, we often make decisions we’ll later regret.

And the strange thing is that many of us have become so accustomed to living at an unhealthy pace that we barely recognize it anymore.

I’ve been there. Running from one thing to the next. Checking off tasks. Accomplishing things. Yet somehow missing the joy of the journey.

Solomon reminds us that haste often causes us to miss our way. And perhaps that’s because wisdom requires something hurry rarely allows. Attention.

Jesus in Action

Jesus lived a busy life, but He never lived a hurried one.

There’s a difference. People demanded His attention constantly, yet He always seemed fully present.

Forged Wisdom

Epictetus taught: “Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”

God’s pace often feels slower than ours. Maybe that’s because it’s healthier.

The No Limits Challenge

Leave margin in your schedule today.

Prayer

Father, help me slow down and pay attention. Teach me to walk through life with wisdom rather than hurry. Amen.
