Be Teachable

One of the most dangerous moments in a man’s life is when he starts believing he has nothing left to learn. The truth is, growth usually stops long before age does.

It stops when humility disappears.

Some of the wisest men I’ve ever met shared one common trait. They remained curious. They asked questions. They listened carefully. They understood that life still had lessons to teach them.

I’ve discovered that teachable people continue growing because they’re willing to admit they don’t know everything.

Pride says, “I already know.” Wisdom says, “Teach me.” And one of those attitudes leads much farther than the other.

Even as a young boy, Jesus listened, learned, and asked questions in the temple.

Throughout His earthly life, He modeled humility and complete dependence upon His Father.

Musonius Rufus taught: “To learn what is good, one must never think he already knows enough.”

Wisdom grows in humble soil.
