Let It Go
Day 75 of 365 • FOCUS
“Whoever covers an offense seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates close friends.”
— Proverbs 17:9 (ESV)
Proverb Truth
If you’ve lived long enough, you’ve probably been hurt.
Someone disappointed you. Someone broke a promise. Someone said something they shouldn’t have said.
And while time has a way of moving forward, wounds don’t always follow the same schedule.
The truth is, some of us are carrying conversations that happened years ago. We replay them in our minds. We revisit the offense. We rehearse what we wish we had said.
And somewhere along the way, we become prisoners to things that happened long ago.
I’ve learned that forgiveness doesn’t mean pretending something didn’t matter. It means deciding that the hurt won’t control the rest of your life.
Because bitterness has a way of hurting the person carrying it more than the person who caused it. And after a while, the burden becomes too heavy to keep dragging around.
Jesus in Action
One of the most remarkable things about Jesus is that even while hanging on the cross, He prayed for the people who had nailed Him there.
“Father, forgive them.”
Those words still amaze me. Because forgiveness wasn’t weakness. It was freedom.
Forged Wisdom
Marcus Aurelius wrote: “The best revenge is not to become like your enemy.”
And maybe one of the greatest victories a man can experience is refusing to let another person’s actions poison his own heart.
The No Limits Challenge
Ask God if there’s someone you’ve been struggling to forgive. Then take the first step toward releasing that burden.
Prayer
Father, thank You for the grace You’ve shown me. Help me extend that same grace to others and free me from the weight of bitterness. Amen.
