Finish Strong

Starting has never been my problem.

I’ve started diets. Projects. Goals. Books. Exercise routines. Dreams.

The challenge has usually come somewhere in the middle. That’s where enthusiasm fades. That’s where distractions appear. That’s where excuses become tempting. And that’s often where many good intentions quietly die.

But I’ve learned that mature men understand something younger men sometimes miss. Life rewards consistency. Not intensity. Consistency. Showing up. Doing the work. Remaining faithful long after the excitement has worn off.

The truth is, very few people remember who started the race the fastest. But everyone remembers those who finished well.

Jesus never abandoned His mission when the road became difficult.

He remained faithful all the way to the cross. And because He finished what the Father gave Him to do, we have hope today.

Epictetus wrote: “First say to yourself what you would be; then do what you have to do.”

Dreams are wonderful. But faithfulness is what turns them into reality.
