Peace Over Pride

Have you ever noticed how some people seem to carry conflict with them wherever they go?

There’s always another argument. Another offense. Another person who wronged them.

And if we’re honest, we’ve all had seasons where we made life harder than it needed to be because we insisted on winning battles that didn’t really matter.

I’ve discovered that peace is precious. And because it’s precious, it must be protected.

Not every disagreement deserves our energy. Not every opinion needs our response. Not every hill is worth dying on.

Sometimes wisdom quietly asks, “What am I really trying to win here?” Because winning the argument while losing the relationship is rarely much of a victory.

Jesus never chased conflict. He spoke truth boldly, but He wasn’t argumentative.

He didn’t feel the need to defend Himself against every accusation or prove Himself to every critic. His peace was rooted in His identity, not in His ability to win debates.

Epictetus taught: “It is impossible to learn that which one thinks one already knows.”

Humility creates peace. Pride creates battles.
