One Day at a Time

I like plans.

I like knowing where things are headed.

But life has taught me that God often reveals His will one step at a time. And maybe that’s because faith grows in the stepping. Not the knowing.

Looking back, some of the best things in my life came through paths I never would have chosen for myself. God saw things I couldn’t. And He still does.

So perhaps the goal isn’t figuring out the next ten years. Perhaps it’s simply being faithful today.

Jesus lived in complete dependence upon His Father, trusting Him one day at a time.

Seneca wrote: “He suffers more than necessary who suffers before it is necessary.”

Tomorrow can wait. Faithfulness today is enough.
