Joy Around the Table

Proverb Truth
I think children understand Christmas better than adults. Not because they understand theology. But because they understand wonder. Excitement. Joy. Anticipation.
But Solomon reminds us that joy is good medicine. And honestly, I think heaven smiles when families laugh together. When stories are told. When grandchildren play. When friends gather.
Because joy isn’t childish. It’s sacred. And perhaps Christmas is God’s annual reminder that joy belongs in our homes.
Because two thousand years ago, heaven announced good news of great joy. And that joy is still available today. Not because life is perfect. But because Christ has come.
Jesus in Action
The angel proclaimed: “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy.” Because joy has always been close to the heart of God.
Forged Wisdom
Marcus Aurelius wrote: “The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts.” And Christmas gives us the greatest thought imaginable: God is with us.

Laugh. Celebrate. Enjoy the people around the table.

Father, thank You for the joy that comes from knowing Christ. Fill our homes with peace, gratitude, and laughter today. Amen.
