The Greatest Gift

Proverb Truth
Christmas Eve has always had a way of slowing me down. And as I grow older, that truth becomes sweeter every year.
Because I’ve come to realize that the greatest gifts in my life were never things. They were people. Family gathered around the table. Old friends. Children. Grandchildren. Brothers who walked beside me. And above all, the God who refused to remain distant.
Solomon tells us that a friend loves at all times. And what greater picture of that truth exists than Christmas itself? Because heaven’s answer to our brokenness wasn’t information. It wasn’t religion. It wasn’t a list of rules. It was a Person. God came near.
Because love has always been heaven’s greatest gift.
Jesus in Action
John tells us: “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” The Creator stepped into creation because love always moves toward the beloved.
Forged Wisdom
Seneca wrote: “Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness.” Christmas reminds us that God Himself seized that opportunity.
The No Limits Challenge
Put down the schedule. Slow down. Enjoy the people God has given you.
Prayer
Father, thank You for the gift of Your Son and the people You’ve entrusted to me. Help me treasure relationships more than possessions and love others with the same love You’ve shown me. Amen.
