Home for Christmas

There’s something about Christmas that brings people home. Perhaps it’s the traditions. The memories. The familiar smells. The laughter. Or perhaps it’s something deeper. Perhaps home reminds us that we were created for belonging. Created for relationship. Created for love.

I’ve discovered that home is much more than a place. It’s people. It’s safety. It’s acceptance. It’s grace.

And honestly, some of the most beautiful homes I’ve known weren’t perfect. But they were peaceful. People felt loved there. They felt welcomed there. They felt safe there.

Because home should feel like grace. And perhaps grace has always felt like home.

Jesus came so that we might be brought into the Father’s house. Because the Gospel itself is an invitation home.

Seneca wrote: “Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness.” And perhaps nowhere is that opportunity greater than at home.
