Don’t Lose Your Sense of Humor
Day 355 of 365 • FAITH
“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
— Proverbs 17:22 (ESV)
Proverb Truth
Somewhere along the way, I’ve learned that laughter is holy. Not shallow laughter. Not sarcastic laughter. But joyful laughter. The kind shared around dinner tables. The kind that fills vacations. The kind that makes grandchildren giggle.
I’ve been guilty of carrying burdens too heavily. Taking myself too seriously. And missing opportunities to simply laugh.
But looking back, some of my favorite memories are filled with laughter. Inside jokes. Funny stories. Moments that seemed ordinary at the time.
And perhaps heaven smiles when families laugh together. Because joy is a gift. And gifts are meant to be enjoyed.
Jesus in Action
Children flocked to Jesus. And I have a hard time imagining that happened because He was stern and humorless. I believe joy surrounded Him.
Forged Wisdom
Seneca wrote: “True joy is a serious thing.” How beautiful. Because joy is not superficial. It is sacred.
The No Limits Challenge
Laugh today. Really laugh.
Prayer
Father, thank You for the gift of joy. Help me enjoy life and never become so serious that I forget how to laugh. Amen.
