Keep Your Heart Soft

Proverb Truth
One of my prayers as I grow older is this: “Lord, don’t let me become hard.”
Because I’ve seen what disappointment can do. I’ve seen people become cynical. Critical. Bitter. Closed off. And honestly, I understand how it happens. Life wounds us. People disappoint us. Dreams don’t always unfold the way we hoped.
But I don’t want that. I want to remain tender. I want to laugh easily. Forgive quickly. Love deeply. And stay amazed by God’s goodness.
Because hard hearts protect themselves. But soft hearts connect. And perhaps the greatest miracle isn’t preserving our youth. Perhaps it’s preserving our tenderness.
Jesus in Action
Even after rejection, betrayal, and suffering, Jesus loved. His heart remained open. And perhaps that’s one of the greatest evidences of His strength.
Forged Wisdom
Marcus Aurelius wrote: “Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be. Be one.” And perhaps good men keep their hearts soft.
The No Limits Challenge
Forgive someone. Release something. Protect your heart from bitterness.
Prayer
Father, keep my heart tender. Protect me from cynicism and help me love people the way You have loved me. Amen.
