Thanksgiving Day

As families gather around tables today, I find myself thinking less about the meal and more about the memories.

Because someday, the dishes will be forgotten. The football games will fade. The decorations will be packed away. But the people. The laughter. The stories. Those things remain.

And perhaps Thanksgiving has always been about something bigger than turkey and traditions. Perhaps it’s heaven’s reminder that gratitude is meant to be shared. That blessings multiply when remembered. That joy grows when expressed.

And honestly, when I look around the table, I see evidence of God’s goodness. Not perfection. Not ease. But grace. And perhaps grace is the sweetest blessing of all.

Before breaking bread, Jesus gave thanks. And perhaps gratitude turns ordinary meals into holy moments.

Marcus Aurelius wrote: “When you arise in the morning, think of what a privilege it is to be alive—to think, to enjoy, to love.” And what a privilege it truly is.
