November  •  Day 1

Don’t Forget

Day 305 of 365  •  FAITH

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

Psalm 103:2 (ESV)

Proverb Truth

One of the great weaknesses of the human heart is forgetfulness. Not forgetfulness about problems. Those we tend to remember. We remember disappointments. We remember hurts. We remember fears. But blessings? Those often fade quietly into the background.

I’ve noticed this in my own life. Prayers that I once prayed desperately eventually became ordinary realities. Things I once asked God for became things I expected. Health. Family. Friendships. Opportunities.

Perhaps that’s why David had to preach to himself. “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.” Because grateful hearts remember. They remember God’s faithfulness. They remember His provision. They remember answered prayers.

Looking back, I realize that God has been far kinder to me than I deserved. Far more faithful than I recognized. And far more patient than I understood.

Jesus in Action

Jesus often paused to give thanks. Before miracles. Before meals. Before breaking bread with His disciples. He never allowed familiarity to rob Him of gratitude.

Forged Wisdom

Marcus Aurelius wrote: “When you arise in the morning, think of what a privilege it is to be alive—to think, to enjoy, to love.” What a beautiful way to begin the day. Because gratitude begins with remembering.

The No Limits Challenge

Make a list of ten blessings you’ve slowly begun to take for granted.

Prayer

Father, forgive me for the times I forget Your goodness. Open my eyes to the blessings that surround me and teach me to remember Your faithfulness with gratitude and joy. Amen.
