July • Day 27
Leave Room for Joy
Day 208 of 365 • BALANCE
“A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed.”
— Proverbs 15:13 (ESV)
Proverb Truth
One of the things I’ve noticed over the years is that many men become very good at responsibility. We provide. We work. We carry burdens. And somewhere in the process, we slowly forget how to enjoy life.
Joy isn’t something God created for children alone. He created it for men too.
Joy doesn’t always arrive through extraordinary experiences. Most of the time, it sneaks into ordinary moments.
Jesus in Action
People were drawn to Jesus. Children loved being around Him. And I’ve often wondered if part of that attraction was because joy radiated from His life.
Forged Wisdom
Marcus Aurelius wrote: “Think of yourself as dead. You have lived your life. Now take what’s left and live it properly.” Don’t postpone joy until someday.
The No Limits Challenge
Do something joyful today. Laugh. Celebrate. Enjoy God’s gifts.
Prayer
Father, thank You for the gift of joy. Help me not become so busy carrying responsibilities that I forget to enjoy the life You’ve given me. Amen.
