Time Is Your Greatest Asset

I remember hearing an older gentleman say something years ago. He said, “Billy, money comes and goes, but time only goes.”

The older I get, the more I realize that time may be the most valuable gift God ever places into our hands. Money can be earned again. Businesses can be rebuilt. But once a day is gone, it’s gone forever.

Perhaps that’s why Solomon spent so much time teaching us about wisdom. Because wisdom teaches us not merely how to make a living. It teaches us how to live.

One of the things that has always amazed me about Jesus is that despite all the demands placed upon Him, He never appeared rushed. He moved with purpose, but He wasn’t frantic.

Seneca wrote: “It is not that we have a short time to live, but that we waste much of it.” Those words have become more meaningful with every passing year.
