May  •  Day 23

Rest Matters

Day 143 of 365  •  FINANCES

Do not toil to acquire wealth; be discerning enough to desist.

Proverbs 23:4 (ESV)

Proverb Truth

I think most men struggle with rest. There always seems to be one more project. One more email. One more responsibility waiting around the corner.

What I discovered was something humbling. God didn’t need me nearly as much as I thought He did. The world kept spinning. The sun still rose. And somehow, God’s faithfulness continued.

Rest wasn’t laziness. It was trust. It was a reminder that I am not the Savior of the world. Jesus already has that job.

Jesus in Action

Even Jesus stepped away from the crowds. He withdrew to quiet places. He prayed. He rested. And if the Son of God embraced rhythms of rest, perhaps we should too.

Forged Wisdom

Seneca wrote: “It is the mind that makes us rich.” And perhaps part of that richness comes from learning when to stop.

The No Limits Challenge

Build margin into your schedule this week. Protect it.

Prayer

Father, teach me to trust You enough to rest. Help me remember that my value isn’t measured by productivity. Amen.
