Invest in Eternity

When I was younger, I thought investing was mostly about preparing for retirement. And while I still believe there’s wisdom in preparing for the future, life has expanded my understanding of what true investment really means.

Because some of the greatest investments I’ve ever made don’t show up on a balance sheet. They’re found in people.

The older I get, the more convinced I become that people are eternal, and anything that touches eternity carries tremendous value.

Jesus spent three years investing in twelve ordinary men. Humanly speaking, that strategy didn’t seem very impressive. But two thousand years later, we’re still experiencing the impact. Because eternal investments produce eternal returns.

Seneca once wrote that life becomes meaningful when we devote ourselves to purposes larger than ourselves.
