April • Day 19
Protect What Matters
Day 109 of 365 • FAMILY
“Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds.”
— Proverbs 27:23 (ESV)
Proverb Truth
Protection isn’t always dramatic. Most of the time, it’s quiet. It’s paying attention. It’s noticing when something feels off. It’s making time for conversations. It’s staying engaged instead of checking out.
I’ve discovered that one of the greatest dangers isn’t opposition. It’s neglect. Because relationships rarely fall apart overnight. More often, they drift. And drift usually begins when we stop paying attention.
Jesus in Action
Jesus called Himself the Good Shepherd. Not because He controlled His sheep. But because He knew them. Loved them. And laid down His life for them. That’s what love does.
Forged Wisdom
Musonius Rufus taught that responsibility and love cannot be separated. Real love pays attention.
The No Limits Challenge
Have a meaningful conversation with someone in your family this week.
Prayer
Father, help me stay engaged with the people You’ve entrusted to me. Teach me to protect what matters most and to love with attentiveness and care. Amen.
