Be Where Your Feet Are

Proverb Truth
Have you ever noticed how easy it is to miss today because you’re worried about tomorrow?
I’ve done it more times than I can count. Thinking about next week. Next month. Next year.
Meanwhile, life is happening right in front of me.
The older I get, the more I realize that some of life’s greatest moments aren’t grand at all. They’re ordinary. Dinner with family. A conversation with a friend. A quiet morning with God.
And if we’re always looking ahead, we risk missing the blessings that are already here.
Solomon reminds us that wisdom teaches us to focus on what God has placed before us. Because today is where we live. Today is where we love. Today is where we obey.
Jesus in Action
Jesus never seemed rushed.
He was fully present with the person standing in front of Him. Whether speaking to a crowd or sitting beside a well with one woman, He gave people His attention.
Forged Wisdom
Seneca wrote: “True happiness is to enjoy the present.”
The present is a gift.

Put your phone down for a while today and give someone your full attention.
Prayer
Father, help me slow down and appreciate the people and opportunities You’ve placed in front of me. Teach me to live fully present. Amen.
