January • Day 24
Peace in the Storm
Day 24 of 365 • FAITH
“If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.”
— Proverbs 3:24 (ESV)
Proverb Truth
Some nights are harder than others.
We’ve all had evenings when our heads hit the pillow, but our minds refuse to rest.
Responsibilities. Concerns. What-ifs.
Sometimes exhaustion isn’t physical. It’s emotional. And if we’re honest, many of us carry tomorrow’s problems into today’s rest.
Solomon reminds us that peace isn’t found in having perfect circumstances. Peace is found in trusting the One who never sleeps. I’ve discovered that some problems look much smaller in the morning after we’ve placed them in God’s hands.
And some burdens were never ours to carry in the first place.
Jesus in Action
The disciples once panicked during a storm while Jesus slept peacefully in the boat. His peace wasn’t based on the waves. It was based on His trust in the Father. And that same peace is available to us.
Forged Wisdom
Epictetus taught: “Seek not for events to happen as you wish, but wish them to happen as they do happen, and your life will go smoothly.”
Peace begins when surrender replaces control.
The No Limits Challenge
Before bed tonight, thank God for three blessings and release your worries to Him.
Prayer
Father, quiet my anxious thoughts and remind me that You are always watching over me. Help me rest in Your care and trust You with tomorrow. Amen.
