The Listening Man

I’ve noticed something about wise people.

They ask questions. They listen carefully. And they don’t feel the need to prove they know everything. Unfortunately, the opposite is true as well. Pride often shows itself through an unwillingness to listen.

The older I get, the more I realize that growth requires humility. The people who continue growing are usually the people who remain teachable.

Not every criticism is fair. Not every opinion is worth following. But sometimes God uses others to help us see things we can’t see ourselves.

And if we have the humility to receive it, correction becomes a gift instead of an insult.

Throughout His earthly ministry, Jesus continually demonstrated submission to His Father.

Again and again, He prayed, listened, and followed the Father’s will.

Humility was never weakness. It was strength under control.

Musonius Rufus taught: “It is not enough to hear good teachings. We must practice them.”

Knowledge without humility changes very little.
