The Slow Build

We live in a world that loves quick results.

Lose the weight in thirty days. Build the business overnight. Become successful with three easy steps.

But if you’ve lived long enough, you’ve probably discovered that most worthwhile things simply don’t happen that way.

Strong marriages are built over years. Trust is earned slowly. Character develops one decision at a time. And faith grows through ordinary days that often feel uneventful.

Sometimes we become discouraged because we mistake slow progress for no progress.

But God rarely seems to be in a hurry.

A seed planted today doesn’t become a tree tomorrow. Yet given enough time, enough sunlight, and enough faithful care, something beautiful begins to grow. Maybe that’s where you are right now.

You’re praying. Showing up. Trying to stay faithful. And wondering if any of it matters.

It does. Because God is often doing His deepest work beneath the surface.

Jesus spent thirty years in relative obscurity before beginning His public ministry.

Thirty years.

The Son of God wasn’t in a hurry. And maybe that’s because the Father understands something we often forget.

Things that last are rarely rushed.

Seneca observed: “Great things are not accomplished all at once.”
