August  •  Day 1

Steward the Gift

Day 213 of 365  •  FITNESS

You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

1 Corinthians 6:19–20 (ESV)

Proverb Truth

I remember when I was younger, I thought health was something I could take for granted. But life has a way of humbling all of us. Because eventually, you realize that strength isn’t guaranteed.

The body is neither something to worship nor something to neglect. It’s a gift. And gifts are meant to be stewarded. Not out of fear. Not out of vanity. But out of gratitude.

Because I want to remain useful. I want to have the energy to serve my family. I want to finish well. And finishing well requires stewardship.

Jesus in Action

Jesus lived in a human body. He grew tired. He slept. He walked countless miles. He embraced the rhythms of humanity. Caring for our physical lives is not unspiritual. It’s part of faithful living.

Forged Wisdom

Musonius Rufus wrote: “No one who is careless with his body can properly care for his soul.” The older I get, the more I realize that physical health and spiritual health often travel together.

The No Limits Challenge

Do one thing today that honors the body God has entrusted to you. Take the walk. Drink the water. Get the sleep.

Prayer

Father, thank You for the gift of life and the body You’ve entrusted to me. Teach me to steward it wisely—not for vanity, but for service. Amen.
