Life Is More Than Work

Proverb Truth
I remember talking with an older businessman years ago who said something I’ll never forget. “Billy, I spent years building a life for my family while unintentionally building it without them.”
Providing matters. Hard work matters. But relationships matter too. Health matters. Rest matters. Faith matters.
Perhaps one of the greatest lies many men believe is that they’ll eventually slow down and enjoy life later. The problem is that later has a way of arriving much faster than we expect.
Jesus in Action
Jesus worked hard, but He never allowed demands to control Him. He stepped away to pray. He rested. He shared meals with friends.
Forged Wisdom
Marcus Aurelius wrote: “Very little is needed to make a happy life.” The older I get, the more I believe he was right.
The No Limits Challenge
Protect some time today for something besides work.
Prayer
Father, help me work faithfully without allowing work to become my identity. Teach me to live with balance and treasure the people You’ve entrusted to me. Amen.
