Choose Your Circle Carefully

Years ago, someone told me that one of the most important decisions a man will ever make is deciding who gets access to his life. Because whether we realize it or not, the people closest to us shape us.

I’ve been blessed to have men in my life who made me want to become better. Men who challenged my thinking. Men who encouraged my faith.

And perhaps that’s one reason the enemy loves isolation so much. Because isolated men are vulnerable men. But brothers who sharpen one another become difficult to defeat.

Jesus chose His disciples intentionally. He spent countless hours with them. He understood that transformation often happens in relationships.

Epictetus wrote: “If a man associates with persons stained with guilt, he cannot avoid being a partaker in their contamination.”
