Generosity Expands the Heart
Day 281 of 365 • FINANCES

Proverb Truth
I’ve noticed something fascinating about generous people. They smile more. They worry less. They seem to possess a quiet joy that others often miss. And I don’t think that’s accidental. Because generosity changes us.
When I was younger, giving sometimes felt like losing. Giving away money. Giving away time. Giving away resources. But age has taught me that generosity rarely diminishes a person. It enlarges him.
Because generous people understand something selfish people never fully grasp. You can’t outgive God. I’ve experienced that truth repeatedly. Not necessarily through financial returns. But through joy. Through relationships. Through peace.
Perhaps that’s why some of the happiest people I’ve ever met are also among the most generous. Because generosity liberates the heart from greed. And freedom always produces joy.
Jesus in Action
Jesus gave Himself away. Completely. And in doing so, He demonstrated that love is measured more by what we give than what we keep.
Forged Wisdom
Epictetus wrote: “Wealth consists not in possessing great things, but in having few wants.” And perhaps generous people discover that truth sooner than most.

Prayer
Father, protect my heart from selfishness. Teach me to live with open hands and remind me that generosity is one of life’s greatest joys. Amen.
