Love Correction

Nobody enjoys being corrected.

At least I don’t. There’s something inside all of us that wants to defend ourselves, explain ourselves, or justify ourselves.

But I’ve learned that some of the greatest growth in my life has come through uncomfortable conversations.

Not every criticism is accurate. But sometimes God uses other people to show us things we can’t see ourselves.

And if we’re humble enough to receive it, correction becomes a gift instead of an insult. Pride says, “I already know.” Wisdom says, “Teach me.”

The older I get, the more I realize that teachable people continue to grow, while pride quietly keeps people stuck.

Although Jesus was perfect, He continually lived in submission to His Father’s will.

Again and again, He said, “Not my will, but Yours be done.”

Humility was never weakness. It was strength under control.

Marcus Aurelius wrote, “If anyone can prove me wrong and show me my mistake, I will gladly change.”

That kind of humility is rare. And powerful.
